Thanks Betty Jo. That's exactly the kind of story I enjoy most, little slices of life that make me smile.

Re: Avon lady

As you know, husband is a fisherman. When he isn't fishing, he's reading about fishing, planning new fishing trips and tying flies for fishing. A purist, he generally eschews bait, prefer the catch his fish with hand wrought barbless flies.

I swear we've been to every fishing store, bead store and craft store in northern california, always in search of just the right color bead to match the eggs from Trinity River steelhead.

He has an Avon Lady, He likes Avon insect repellant, swears it even works on Alaska mosquitos. His Avon lady works part time at Longs Drug Store in town.

Finally, despairing of finding the right color beads, he decided he'd have to repaint the ones he had. And so, when we went to town to drop eggs off at the market, he stopped by Longs and purchased a half dozen bottles of nail polish - from baby pink to an off rose coral. Ms. Avon was working the counter.

Ever helpful, as she bagged the polish, she looked him over and allowed as how she thought the off rose coral was a good color for him.

I'm sure that there must be some Avon product that would take care of her rash. :)

Oh no...a smart company would never limit itself to one product line. They want to suck in everyone!
